Yaoicon was beyond awesome

I honestly don't know where to start. Words cannot begin to express how much fun I had.
***** Meeting OokamiKasumi and KitatheSpaz I have wanted to meet them for years because they are two of my best friends online and it was amazing to get to see them. They are as lovely in person as they are online. It only makes me wish that much harder that they were closer and that I could see them more often.
***** Making up with I have to put this in it's own journal because I can't stress how important this was/is. It made my weekend. There were a lot of things that made my weekend amazing, but I think this might be the most important. It goes beyond the obvious reasons like being able to friends with her again or healing a very deep wound to changing my perception on my interactions with others online and even in person.
***** The swap meet was awesome and got rid of a ton of stuff I didn't want/really need anymore.
I found several YonKaka doujins that I'm going to give to Moiya Hatake. I saw them and thought it would make a nice gift since she couldn't make it.
I found a cute shirt for my daughter that has a kitty on it. I found a yuri novel for my friend Sarah who should like it and a few for myself. I got a Miroku plushie for the hubby and a Haku and Zabuza figure for myself. I forget what else I got.
I sold the last Spanish copy of Mission Iruka and sold I think all of the MI post cards that I had laying around. And yes for those who want to know EVENTUALLY I will print more but I'm going to have to find a new artists (again) to do the second part (ch 7-15) first. After it's done I WILL print more copies I promise. I've been holding off until then but I honestly thought it would be done by now. If you know of a good doujin artist who takes commissions please let me know. I'm going to find a new one soon. Lenap is currently working on part 3 and so it is still being worked on.
Kita gave me a bunch of the little figures so I'm going to give away several of those for contests in my various groups.
PLUS (and this is the best part) I GOT TO SIT NEXT TO CRUEL! we were joking before hand about how it would be neat to get to sit beside each other and how I'd buy her out of her KI stuff (Kita did instead though if she hadn't I would have, but instead I got the KakaxKaka scroll). I didn't know who she was when I sat down beside her. Originally I was going to sit one table over but there was an umbrella on the chair and so she said to sit beside her since it was empty and then we had a good laugh when we figured out who each other was. I also totally need to get her the files for Mission Iruka that don't have the screentones on them so that she can color them. It was awesome to get to see her because I have wanted to meet her for years.
***** Reconnecting with the 'FanMadames' (and Ladies I am SERIOUSLY going to start a group on dA for that). I met them briefly last year at the y-con/TeamFortress 2 meetup and I thought after that it was a shame I didn't get to spend more time with them. I spent a shitload of time with them this time and loved every second of it.
They're totally dragging me into the Hetalia fandom too. For me fandoms are a million times more fun if friends are into them. I have so much fun listening to people talk about their favorite characters and stories that even if the fandom or pairing isn't something I'm normally into. I am actually going to give Hetalia a second try just because it was such fun to talk to them about it. I'm planning on trying to put together a cosplay for it for next year too.
I spent more time in their room than my own. ^.^ I think every night we'd go there and hang out before finally tearing ourselves away to go crash for a few hours.
The greatest part about it I think was that it was like we just instantly clicked. I felt totally at home and comfortable with them right away. They're all so wonderfully cool. I miss them all.
We spent a lot of time together though and they shared food and bought me drinks which was SUPER sweet and awesome of them. I can't say thank you enough for that since it made things stretch a lot further.
I had so much fun talking to each of them and it was awesome to find somebody who can keep up with me.
* Ro and I rarely stopped talking long enough to breathe I think. ^.^ America and Narutoverse was AWESOME! She's definitely a kindred spirit and she just has a way of making me geek out over things like history and x-men and transformers! It was awesome. When she's around I do have problems remember to not just hyperfocus on her. It's easy to do that and I did my best not to do that this weekend because I wanted to give my attention to as many friends as possible. She makes it hard which is a good thing in that we just kind of click, but bad because I will totally forget to pay attention to everyone else too. hehe It's just cuz she's super awesome. She also made sure there were pictures of me on my camera because I am one of those that totally forgets to do things like that. I is the paparazzi! *laughs*
* D... aw well she is just amazing. She's one of those laid back souls that I just makes everyone around her more comfortable. She's fun and makes the most amazing Jiraiya ever(see below). I hope I am at least half as awesome as her when I'm her age (and I only have 10 years to become that cool... not enough time!) hehe
* Jo is one of those super cool people that you just kind of stand back and go wow! at. It's a shame we didn't get to see her do more naughty poses with the G.I. Joes which was one of the coolest things last year.
* Winde was so much fun to spend time with and she was a complete sweetie if quite a bit quieter than Ro, D, and Mako. I didn't get to spend as much time with her as I'd have liked to. I'd have needed weeks to spend the time I wanted to with everyone that I wanted to.
This of course leads into the next thing
***** Meeting people I know from online is the COOLEST THING IN THE WORLD!
I can't list everyone that I met and there were so many people that I wanted to spend more time with and didn't get to. *SAD FACE* Seriously I got to see Ven for all of like a minute and the Shikamaru from Redmoon was the same and I forget who was with her but I knew her too and man I really wanted to hang out with them and I didn't get to! Why is y-con so short? Why why why!?!
Some of the people I'll list down below in the cosplay stuff.
I got to meet Hanyouelf from y-gallery! And she's a fan and said so and I blushed and damn near cried. I'm a dork! *facepalm* But she's a sweetie and awesome in her own right. I meant to hang out with her later and then Jackie and I didn't end up getting together and I forgot and ugh I feel so bad cuz I failed! I was so ADHD it's retarded. Lene and I were talking about how awesome it was to get to meet her though and the fact that she likes our stuff just brightened our weekend.
I'm trying to remember who else I ran into and I can see their faces but I'm having a hard time remembering all their names... I met quite a few people I knew from LJ which was awesome. I know I should remember but I think the sleep deprivation is screwing with my ability to remember stuff, most notably names. I didn't really get more than 3 hrs most nights. One night I got 5. Totally my choice/fault but I didn't want to even sleep then, just knew I had to or I'd fall over and sleep for 8 hrs and miss stuff which would suck more. So please forgive my stupidity it was sooo completely cool to get to meet people. I'm sorry I didn't get to spend more time with everyone because I would have loved to spend more time getting to know people IRL that I know online. And I kid you not I recognized every name when people gave it to me that I already knew online. I am just like amazed at how many people I got to meet this time around it was sooo cool!
I also go to meet random people I didn't know. Akira (see below) and Sasuke-kitty were both awesome.
***** Seeing Jackie/ again! This is always fun. We get along so well because we're alot a like. Spazzy and we both have more fun when the people around us are having fun. For us making other people smile is more important than buying some souvenir. Unfortunately, Jackie often gets stuck with drama and ungrateful pains in the asses. I don't which is great. I have been very lucky in that regard. Nobody (at least not that I know of) has tried to call me a bitch or said I was selfish after I helped them and they have her. Thankfully she had cool people in her room this year and she was able to relax and have fun without a shit ton of drama. I always worry about her when it comes to that kind of stuff. I don't care what anyone thinks if they say something bad about her in my presence they'd better be prepared to have their head ripped off. I will do it. We all have our faults, I get that, and that does not exclude me (clearly) or her, but to give somebody shit when they have done what they can to help you out so you can enjoy a weekend... NOT COOL! I get that some people think that when we help somebody go to a con there's this 'I'm a good person, look what I did' thing in our head (or something similar), but even if we say 'I brought them' it's NOT that! We're just really happy we could help and that they could be there. It's a 'Look what I got to do! I got to make somebody happy and this makes me happy!' not 'Praise me for I am awesome.' And people who take it that way really need to stop.
On that note
***** I GOT TO ADOPT A KAKASHI!!! It's a shame I didn't run into her earlier in the weekend, but well at least I ran into her. So Sunday morning I was running around the fanmarket helping Ookami set up and talking to Akira (the KakaSasu fanartist who is awesome) and I was on my way out the door to get Ookami something... I think breakfast when I saw Kita talking to a Kakashi and an Iruka and I kind of glomped them. *laughs* I know you're supposed to ask before you randomly hug people, but I was in a hurry and my failed me. I was all *hug* and *hug* and "You two are so cute!" before my brain caught up with me. ^///^ They thanked me for the compliment and mentioned they had a Sexy no Jutsu Kakashi out in the lobby if I wanted to see her too, but that she couldn't come in there because she didn't have a badge. I HAD to fix that. Kakashi should not be denied PORNZ! It is just plain wrong! I said we would fix that problem and they were all 'For realz?' and I was all 'duh I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it. Show me Kakashi!' so they led me out and we told the Kakashi we were going to get her a badge and not only did she freak her other friends did too. One of them gave me a hug even. ^///^ It was sweet. I couldn't have found anything better to spend that piddly little $30 on if I'd tried. Seriously, cuz what's a trinket when compared to smile? Making somebody's day/weekend is the best thing ever. It's like CRACK too. I warn you all now... doing good deeds like that is addictive! But it's a good addiction. ^.^
They were also super sweet. All 3 of them were fun to talk to and hang out with.
They also totally let me get a ton of photos and I dragged them around for all kinds. Photoshoots and fandom gatherings are the best thing even if you aren't actually cosplaying! I had so much fun playing photographer and fangirling and playing director of poses. Next year I am going to cosplay though. This year I just couldn't with so much stuff going on. This of course leads into the next subject
***** COSPLAYERS!
Speaking of which all of the Naruto cosplayers were so much fun to hang out with.
I LOVED listening to Caeseria talk. (she was with Kansou which was awesome! She has a beautiful voice, a wonderful accent, and makes an amazing Iruka too boot. By the end of it I was calling her Iruka and I WANT HER SHIRT! LEAF FOR LIFE BABY!!! She was fun to talk to it was great to get to meet her IRL since I've talked to her online several times before via the KI LJ comm.
The third Iruka was very cool too though I totally forgot her name! I FAIL! I got her to give the Bishi!Kakashi(below) my tip so I could take a picture of her doing it because I wanted to tip him, but IMO way cooler to have an Iruka do it. Way smexier and a better photo op than me doing it. Cuz pfft you know I can't resist an opportunity to get some KakaIru time in. God I'm such a damn fangirl at times. I don't think I'm quite awesome enough to call myself a FanMadame yet. ^///^ I am growing. I have my moments where I'm one and my moments where I'm just too much of a damn dork to really carry that off. *snickers* Like anytime a Kakashi or Iruka (or worse both) is present. Then my retardedness comes out.
The Kakashi Cosplayers... HOT! From the Bishi to the sexy no jutsu one to the regular one! Oh fuck they were awesome. The regular one I feel like I didn't get to give her as much attention as I'd have loved to lavish her with. ^.^ She had to run off a bit early, but it was wonderful to see her.
Lene and her girlfriend/fiance Lila made wonderful a Sasuke and Naruto on Friday and then a wonderful flipflop/cross between the two (I'll post pics later and you can see what I mean). I didn't get any of them as normal Sasuke and Naruto though because I was distracted by talking to Lene about other stuff (as you'll see in my next journal) and didn't think to get one. Shame.
Jiraiya... AMAZING! Okay so I had this Jiraiya costume that I originally bought for my husband but then he tried it on and we didn't really like it because it didn't fit HIM right so I brought it to the swap meet and D (one of the fan madames that I'm friends with) bought it. She didn't haggle or anything *laughs* Honestly I'd probably have just given it to her if she hadn't bought it, but the extra $50 did help our little group out for the weekend so it was appreciated. It fit her PERFECTLY THOUGH! I am not kidding she looks fucking amazing in it! I was worried it wouldn't fit even though she seemed to be the right height and build based on comparing her to my hubby. I'd have been sad if it didn't. Well anyways it did and she makes the best fucking Jiraiya ever!
She walks like him, she has the personality it requires to carry it off and the perfect smile for it. I am going to post pics I promise and you guys will see what I mean!
Ookami dressed up too. I loaned her my Tsunade costume from the last Sakura con because I'm a lazy ass and didn't want to buy hair extensions or a wig to wear it and plus I thought it would be good for her. It fits her personality better than mine anyway.
Next year I'm going to dress up as Anko and Ukraine(Hetalia). I think it'll be serious amounts of fun. And Kita is planning on Shizune which will be awesome next to Ookami as Tsunade and D as Jiji(my nickname for Jiraiya)
There was other absolutely AMAZING cosplays from other fandoms.
I LOVED the Tiger and Bunny cosplay that I saw.
The Cpt America and crew were neat.
The few Bleach characters that I saw were fun, especially the bishi that was in the room with Jackie (he just has a great costume IMO). The two guys crossdressing as Felicia(darkstalkers) and the other character... I think it was Cammy but I forget now (I was seriously f'n tired) made me laugh (sorry for those who don't agree, but if you can't have fun and laugh like they were then get the stick outta your ass).
Even the really dorky/dumb outfits were fun because for me it was like o.O followed by a great deal of laughing. More people need to relax and do cosplay crazy shit. I know there are those who are like if you don't look like x character or blah blah blah you should only cosplay your body type then you shouldn't cosplay or whatever. I think these type of people should lighten up. Thankfully aside from overhearing a couple comments to this regard and stepping in on one(also other journal) I didn't have to deal with it much.
The only cosplayer that annoyed me was the Tenzou because I try my hardest to include people and I was trying to include her and not snub her even though I've met her before and she kind of well annoys me. Personality clash maybe. Thing is I run a KakaYama group on here and a KakaIru group and I try my best to get people to get along by encouraging every possible variation of those 3 and I asked her to pose with the Iruka and she just well... she wouldn't. At least you could claim she was in character since she clearly had a stick up her ass. Joke BTW. Tenzou is a great character but he is a bit stiff. I didn't like her attitude and it made me kind of like Tenzou less. I hate when people are like anti-TenzouIruka or can't see them getting along. I totally see them working both just them and with Kakashi. Yes I prefer KakaIru but YamaIru and KakaYamaIru is cute and one of the few reasons why I like KakaYama. When a Tenzou fan acts like a dick in regards to Iruka though even if they say that they like KakaIru I want to hit them because it just feeds the pairing war stupidity IMO.
Okay enough of that and back to another awesome thing!
***** The Bishis!
I GOT A LAP DANCE FROM A BISHI! And I made him laugh and he gave me a kiss. He was such a sweetie and so adorable I could just have cuddled him and taken him home with me. He was pretty too of course and damn could he move that body of his. I felt very lucky to have such a lovely boy to dance for me. It was a major highlight of my weekend and whenever I saw him after I couldn't help but smile and want to hug him.
The bishi's as a whole were all incredibly sweet guys. Their incredibly smokin' bodies aside they were all just so NICE.
The one staying with Jackie was awesome and his routine was a lot of fun to watch. Really all of the guys were fun and sexy and entertaining and the crowd at the auction clearly adored every single one of them.
My favorite of course has to be Kakashi because I'm a Kakashi fangirl. Plus 'My Ding-a-ling' made me laugh my fucking ass off and anyone who knows me knows that I would rather something be light-hearted and fun than just sexy. If you can manage both (and he SO DOES) then it's unbeatable in my mind. Plus I talked to the guy last year while I was hanging out with Jackie and Xav on Saturday afternoon in the lobby and he was just a nice guy. I liked talking to him. Him and the Aizen that were there last year were my two favorite guys that I met I think. Xav and I shared our pizza with them too. Shame I didn't see the Aizen this year (at least not that I know of) and a shame that the Zabuza from last year couldn't make it cuz he's in the military and got shipped out. AW! I hope he stays safe over there though.
He also looks smoking in a skirt and fishnets and a feather boa and FUCKING HELL those pants on Sunday should come with a warning. Also how the hell does he walk in those 6 inch heels? I mean really? I would have landed on my face at some point but he had so much grace in them it was insane! It's like they were extensions of his legs.
His obvious sexiness aside he was fun to talk to. He's hot enough to stop hearts, but even if he wasn't he's sweet, friendly, social, and just lights up the fucking room when he walks into it. Looks aside anyone who's not drawn to that needs some sense knocked into him/her. I don't know if he does but I hope that boy has somebody special because he deserves it.
I swear if he makes it next year I am going to bid on him and if anyone wants to pitch in and help me buy him on behalf of say the fandom $1600 would be an awesome goal because that's the most any bishi has ever made and he'd deserve it and I'd love to see him go for it. He's an ItaKaka fan but was totally cool about the other pairings fans. It makes me want to write him some yummy ItaKaka though I have tried to do that in the past for somebody else and failed to get it done. Maybe I can now though since it's been a few years. Just have to think of the right situation. He likes uke!Kakashi which I personally think is completely under-rated no matter what the pairing.
***** I met Akira a Japanese SasuKaka fan. She's a sweetie and I'm going to post some special stuff in various groups about her to help feature her here on dA, just have to dig out the card she gave me, so I won't get into it much here. You'll all lov her. Let's just say I loved meeting her for now.
***** I acted like a crazy spaz all weekend so uh sorry if I scared anyone. ^///^ I was determined to have as much fun as possible and I swear I'm usually MUCH calmer. I was also a little bit drunk Saturday and Sunday cuz Ro and D bought me drinks. I found an alcoholic drink that I like. Lemondrops are YUMMY! I was drunk enough on Sunday that I forgot my boots in their room. >.< Didn't have a hangover or anything of the sort the next day and I wasn't falling down or running into walls so I stand by my statement that I wasn't therefore that drunk.
***** I got to meet George who is one of the coolest guys ever! He had to work and sadly couldn't come to the comm, but we (D, Mako, and I) swung downtown to see him on Monday before we had to leave. He is one of the most intelligent men that I know which personally is a trait that I find charming in a person. I love people who are quite honestly smarter or more knowledgeable than I am. I always feel like I learn something around them and they tend to have interesting things to say. More-over he does so with such social grace that you don't feel dumb for not knowing something. I've always found this interesting about him when I've read his journals and it's only more true in person. I could spend all day just wandering around the city listening to him talk about the history of it. He is also just naturally charming and handsome and he has this air about him that is both sophisticated and kind. You know the instant you talk to him that you can trust him.
***** Panels! I didn't get to anywhere near as many as I intended, but that's fine since I didn't get to them because I was busy hanging out with awesome people.
Iron Yaoi Writ-aaah! FAIL! Not the panel, but ME! Haha! The minute I realized I had to read it out loud I panicked... I had a mild panic attack actually. Like I was super embarrassed, couldn't hardly breathe, turned a million shades of red, and felt like I was going to be sick. Which is like crazy because I'm a super out-going, effervescent person. It's just that certain things cause me to stress and panic. I can't even be in the room when my stuff is read. Which the second round, Ookami did. Lene said she'd have read it for me if she'd been there too which was of course sweet. Sadly I tore up the KakaIru snippet that I wrote in the first round.
On the other side of things Kita is a much braver soul than I and she got up and read her despite having her own panic attack. You couldn't tell until she walked back to her seat. It was an awesome piece and Ookami won the first round. She did great and was hilarious.
Maybe next year I'll be able to fail less. I think I have an idea for a challenge though.
TEAHOUSE!!! I managed to get a seat at the Teahouse panel which was AWESOME! It was great and I wish it had been twice as long since I feel like there is so much more I'd love to know though my mind was blank from the pure smexiness we were privy to.
Gay Ninjas! This was Lene and Lila's panel and it was AWESOME! Honestly of the three it was my favorite. Teahouse was way cool and so was Iron Writer, but if this weekend proved anything it's that I am the biggest fucking, most retarded ass Narutard ever! ^///^ Nothing makes me act like more of a spaz than Naruto. Plus the Kakashi-bishi showed up and that was really cool. He walks in the room and brains melt! Hehe that said the thing that made the whole thing so awesome was Lila! That girl is awesome. She managed to pull people back on topic and keep people from getting upset over anything that might possibly have upset people. Her and Lene did a lot of research and all of it was incredibly interesting. I loved hearing what other people liked about different pairings and like I said listening to others talk about a fandom makes me that much more enthusiastic when it comes to it. I think we could have spent the whole con talking about different things regarding the Naruto fandom and not gotten bored.
Hardest thing about the whole con was of course leaving and I still wish that I'd had at least one more day to spend with people, especially Lene because I feel like we have a lot of catching up to do now that we're friends again. I would also love to have EVERYONE live closer to me... you all need to move to Seattle now. ^.^
Anyways if you read all of that... well thanks cuz WOW! That's a shit load of spammy stuff and I still feel like there is so much I could say that I didn't.
***** Meeting OokamiKasumi and KitatheSpaz I have wanted to meet them for years because they are two of my best friends online and it was amazing to get to see them.
